Welcome to 2016-2017!
It has been a great start to the school year! Very busy with lots of activities, and something almost every day of the week, but being busy is not a bad thing.
It has been great to see such continued support for our activities (lots of student participation), and support in attendance at our sporting events. I hope this trend continues for the rest of the year!
By now students have been in school for about 6 weeks, and we're sending home progress reports for deficient grades about every 3 weeks, and attendance letters weekly. If you ever have questions about assignments and grades please don't hesitate to contact a teacher. If you have questions about attendance don't hesitate to contact the office.
I know as the year unfolds I will see many of you at games, concerts and other events. Thank you in advance for your continued support of our kids, our school and our

First
day of school activity was very successful. The team building activity involved
building card towers out of index cards that connected to two other color group
towers. The debriefing included how we are all connected even with our
differences. Students were challenged to get to know the names of every person
in their color group. The teachers had a
skit at the beginning that showed areas to focus on what not to do in school. We
also had two other activities that involved getting to know one another in the
color groups. The students seemed to
enjoy the activities, enjoyed lunch, and then went to their classes in the
afternoon.

The
latter half of the morning on Day 1 involved technology and the teachers split
up and went over the key elements of our technology program with the student
laptops. Students also watched a student made video and the students took a quiz following the discussion and video.
All students must pass with 80% or higher to get the privilege to use the
laptops. Laptops were issued and
students returned the acknowledgment forms to the office so they could take
them home.
