· Academics
o
PSAT
Wednesday, October 15th.
o
2nd
round of progress reports going out October 13th.
o
Parent
conferences will be held Nov. 6th and 7th. We will be
contacting parents of students with low grades for a conference. We will also
put information in the bulletin encouraging all parents to attend a conference.
o
Dual
credit information-the number of students taking dual credit courses for this
semester are about the same as last Fall. The majority of the courses that
students are taking right now they will actually register for dual credit next
Spring such as Calc, Govt, Stats etc.
o
Student
laptops seem to be working well. Still less than 10% have died, which is what
we expected. They are covered under warranty. Teachers are using a variety of
platforms for classes, and sharing ideas weekly at our staff meetings.
· Activities
o
FFA-Genesee
Soils team took 2nd in Districts. The team traveled to Burley for state Soils
on October 14th.
o
Homecoming
activities are occurred the last week of September (Sept. 22-26).
o
UI
Homecoming Parade and game this Saturday. The Band and Cheer squad will be
participating in the parade and pre-game show.
o
Ten
students auditioned for All-State and All-Northwest Music groups. We will be
notified if anyone is accepted in December.
· Athletics
o
Dig
4 Pink is tomorrow night here against Troy.
o
VB
team plays their final league match against Troy and will be the #2 or #3 seed
into the district tournament, taking tie-breaker into account. District
tournament will be Oct. 18, 20, 21 and 22 at LCSC.
o
VB
State is October 31st & Nov. 1st at Wendell High
School.
o
FB
team has 1 remaining regular season game. We play Kamiah this Friday for a spot
in the playoffs as a 3rd or 4th seed into the week 9
play-in. The week 9 game will mean traveling to S. Idaho, playing someone most
likely on Nov. 1st out of region 3.
o
JH
FB has 3 games left, will finish at the end of the month.
o
JH
VB has 17 girls participating. Games begin tonight and run through Nov. 10th
· Vision 21
o
Color
groups are currently working on new ideas for posters and t-shirts. Groups will
present their top 2 ideas next week, which will then go to the staff. The staff
will pick 3 to vote on, and the students will vote at the end of the month.
o
Planning
for community give-back day will take place over the next three weeks. Community
give-back day will be on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 6th.
