First
Semester pass rate was 99.25% 133/134 students passed all of their classes.
o
I
have been keeping track of the pass rate since January 2011. Here are the pass
rates from each semester. 1/11-93% 6/11-96%
1/12-99.25% 6/12-96.1% 1/13-96.8%
6/13-97.6% 1/14-96.9% 6/14-95.5%
I attribute these high rates to the teachers being available to help
(and sometimes prodding) students to complete their work and missing
assignments.

I
have also started keeping track of the percentage of students with all grades
of “C” or higher. Here is the history of those rates. 1/11-83%, 6/11-84%,
1/12-86%, 6-12-82%, 1/13-82%, 6/13-81%, 1/14-86%, 6/14-86%, 1/15-79% As you can see there is a pretty steady avg of
14-18% of students that receive a “D” each semester. In real numbers this is
around 20 students, which is a little over 3 per grade. I attribute the drop in
the percentage of “C” or higher to the accountability that has increased as a
result of the 1:1 implementation. Teachers can use technology to issue and
collect assignments, and it’s easier to track accountability as well. I will be
monitoring these numbers this semester and trying to decrease the “D” rate
which in turn should increase the “C” or better rate.

GPA’s are very close to GPA’s from 2012 and 2013.

BPA
had 18 students qualify for state (81%).

Two
students were selected to the Idaho All-State Choirs. The event will be held
this weekend in Coeur d’ Alene on the NIC campus.

Music
students participate in the Jazz Festival Feb. 25-27.
o
Jazz
Concert with the University of Idaho will be in Moscow at the UI Music Building
on Monday March 2nd, 7pm.
· Athletics
o
Girls
basketball District Tournament begins on Feb. 3rd for Genesee. We
are the #3 seed into the tournament. Girls finished 3rd in the
tournament and will travel to Wallace for the regional play-in game on February
12.
o
Boys
basketball District Tournament begins on Feb. 17th for Genesee.
Seeding to be determined. Currently we’re 3rd.
o
JH Bball begins February 11th.
o
Spring
sports first practice will be Feb. 27th.
· Vision 21
o
There
was a PRIDE Assembly on Jan. 16th. Seven students completed the
semester with perfect attendance, and got to choose a gift card. Students were also
chosen from the raffle and received gifts cards. 66 students (49%) had zero
tardies for Fall Semester, and they were recognized and received a snickers
bar. This percentage was exactly the same as last year, and in real numbers one
more student than last year.

Mr.
Hanson and the World Events class organized and presented materials to the
secondary students on January 16th in honor of Human Rights Day. The
students also used their laptops in one session interactively, and completed an
online survey at the end to give feedback to the class.
o
Mr.
Hanson used the IEN equipment in Mr. Derting’s classroom to connect with
legislators on Friday, Feb. 6th. Students were able to interact and
ask questions of the politicians.
o
A
traveling team of the NW RISE network visited Genesee on Feb. 10th.
The team is visiting 5 network schools in 5 days, to study the schools and
student engagement. The team had a great visit in Genesee and will report back
later with their findings.
o
The
Genesee team of the NW RISE network presented a webinar to other network
schools at the end of January. The webinar focused on school culture and
development of community and engagement.
o
Mrs.
Booth’s Sophomore English class created and presented a video about community
to members of the NW RISE Network. The video was well received and the Network
members asked the students questions about the project and global awareness
when they visited the school on Feb. 10th.
