As we begin school this year, sometimes it is nice to reflect on the great year we had in 2011-12. The following is the monthly reports from the second half of the 2011-12 school year. of semester grade results- 99.25% pass rate! Only 1 student 7-12 failed a
course.

Sobczyk won the district Geography Bee on Jan. 11, and will go to the state
level bee in April.

Regional contests were held Feb. 3rd. 13 students have qualified for state.

Regional Contests were held on Jan. 27th and 16 students qualified for state.

Festival competitions on February 23, 24 and 25. Genesee will have choirs,
bands, and soloists performing in the festival.

bball Districts-girls have won a game and lost a game. They are in a loser-out
game on Wednesday night.

The
senior projects class is starting to present some of their projects. Basketball
camp this past weekend and the VB/BB parents games this coming week are the
first part of many activities this spring. I will present a complete list of
senior projects in April.

The
second round or D/F progress reports went out this past week. We will be
inviting and scheduling conferences with parents for the end of the month.
o

Conferences will be held March 29 evening and March 30 morning.

BPA students were at the BPA state conference this past week.

Genesee
Jazz Experience Concert in Genesee on Monday, February 27 at 7pm was very
successful and appreciation to Latah County Arts and cultural committee has
been noted. We still wish the event was better attended, but for those who were
there it was a great concert.

Fishing
Rod building workshop on March 17 and 18 in the Ag Shop. Class is almost full,
but there are still some spots available.

Book fair will run from March 26-29. Sherie Wright is organizing the event.

Videoed skits will be produced by classes this
spring that address various expectations on the Bulldog Pride matrix.

will be another fun run this spring with the PTO involved in organizing
fund-raising to help with expenses for a climbing wall in the auxiliary gym.

We
are working on an end of the year K-12 celebration for the last day of school.

Chapter of the National Honor Society on May 22.

Reggie Tilleman placed 5th in 1A shot
put and 5th in the discus at the state track meet.

Kristin Nash placed 6th in the 1600m
run and 6th in the 3200m run.

The Baseball team placed 2nd in the state
baseball tournament,

Genesee was 4th in the Schools of
Excellence Program through the IHSAA this year. No plaque, but still very
respectable.

Vision 21
Fun Run on June 1st went well. The students raised around
$1800 for the climbing wall project with help from the PTO.
SWPBIS--We
had 54 different students who were acknowledged in our PRIDE Assemblies this
year, and they received a gift card or a t-shirt. We had roughly the same
number participate in minute-to-win-it challenges and held 4 pizza parties for
40+ students. Each assembly we had around 28 students directly participate in
the assemblies, which is roughly 20% of the student body each assembly. We plan
to continue this type of acknowledgement in the future, with input from the
students.
