Secondary Report December 2015

·         Academics

o   Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents will be held January 6^th

o   Four weeks left in the semester

o   P/T Conference results

o   Teachers averaged between 15-20 face-to-face contacts for parent conferences this year, which is up slightly from last year. Through the use of technology and some of the platforms used with students (google classroom and lumen) there is increased communication and accountability. Teachers have numerous contacts through email, phone, and face-to-face during conference time and throughout the semester. Some teachers had 20+ contacts at conferences alone, which is about the same as last year at this time.

o   December 18^th will be the final D/F grade report for the semester

o   Seniors Economic Summit will be held Dec. 16^th in Moscow

o   Finals will be January 19-21

o   Dual credit for Calculus 170 , Government 101,  Math 137, Math PT103, Pre-calc and Trig 143/144 and English 175 will be addressed with students after break. Hopefully adding US History as well.

·         Activities

o   JH/HS Choir in UI Holiday Concert on Dec. 11^th

o   Elem Band/GES/JH/HS Winter Concert on Dec. 16^th  

o   8^th grade Drama will present their play on Jan. 14 and 15

o   BPA Regional Contest on Jan. 23^rd

o   Blood Drive at the school will be January 18 from 1-4:30pm. ASB students will be managing the drives this year.

·         Athletics

o   GB and BB are both in full swing

o   JH Bball will begin February 11th

·         Vision 21

o   The annual afternoon dodgeball tournament will take place in the afternoon on Friday, December 18.

·         Rec District

o   We are waiting for plans to be approved on dugouts and backstop so construction can begin. Sprinklers were winterized and fields prepped for winter.
