Welcome Back!
I hope you have enjoyed your time away from school and are ready to begin a new year. There are exciting things coming our way. We have a great presenttation lined-up for the day #1, and we will be deploying student laptops on day #2. Fall sports are also underway, and there will be volleyball and football games later in the week too.
There will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, August 19th (for parents of JH and HS students) regarding student laptops beginning at 6pm. Please make every effort to attend this meeting to become better acquainted with the laptop program and expectations for students. Immediately following the laptop meeting we will hold the Concussion meeting for parents for any secondary student participating in sports this school year. The concussion information will be presented and then parents can disperse to Fall sports meetings. The meetings should conclude by 8pm.
The first day of school will be the same format as we have done for several years, which I personally think is a great way to start school. There will be a brief introduction and welcome, followed by a team-building activity that will take the majority of the day. i2i is a presentation that will be brought to us from the Idaho Drug Free Youth, and focuses on healthy living, making good choices, and caring about and looking out for one another. It has been several years since we have brought the i2i program to our school, and we're looking forward to hosting them again. Teachers will be cooking lunch for the students and we will finish up the day with a visit to each class period.
After the school day is over we will hold back-to-school for grades 4-12 from 4-5:30pm. This is a time for parents to go meet teachers and get a feel where classes are located in the building.
At 5:30pm we will hold a dinner for families and at 6pm we will begin the 21 Matters presentation, brought to us by the same folks that worked with the students during the day. The presentation is about 45 minutes, and we should wrap up the day's activities before 7pm. We hope you will mark your claendars and plan to attend.
